It looks like Michael Jackson isn’t only the King of Pop, but also the King of Pot and several other drugs that should have landed him on Celebrity Rehab. First reported by Pop on the Pop, police discovered two bags of marijuana, a bottle of Restoril, a medication used to treat insomnia, and empty bottles of the sedatives Ativan and Valium.

According to unsealed search warrants, several empty, unlabeled drug bottles were also found in the home shortly after his death. A search warrant served four days after Jackson’s death also states that “family members of the decedent notified Los Angeles County Coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter that they had located a quantity of tar heroin in Jackson’s bedroom on the second floor of the residence. Winter notified LAPD detectives of the found evidence.”

It later turned out that the substance was not heroin, but he still had enough drugs in his house to have a pretty rockin’ party.

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve updated, but I’ve had a lot of health problems that had to take precedence over my websites. I’ve also gotten been asked by two friends to join the Sweet Leaf Team, so look out for posts from my fiance, Jay, and my best friend, Ben.

Now onto the real point of this post: There’s a new place on the web to talk about everything marijuana law reform, medical marijuana, and cannabis culture.

Every Friday at 4:20pm PST, (7:20EST), you can join in on WeedChat on Twubs . All you do is join Twubs with your Twitter account, and join the WeedChat ‘Twub’, or group, via the button on the right hand side. It only takes a few seconds to join, and you’ll be connected with several like-minded people to share ideas, beliefs, and maybe even learn something new.

I’m going to try my hardest to be there – Having a life that only happens at night time, on the weekends, is going to make it sort of difficult, but I definitely advise you all to take part and let me know what your experience was like. I’d love to hear from you!

Also, as a last little tidbit: I’ve made a new Twitter profile specifically for this website and marijuana related issues. You can find my profile @sweetleaftrib, and I’ll almost always follow you right back.

I haven’t been home much, so I’ve been lacking on the updates, but I have a feeling I’m going to be home a lot more often over the coming weeks. Anyhoo – Enough excuses and onto the real reason you’re here…

It’s mo’fuckin’ 4/20, bitches! No matter what country you’re in, you should be celebrating correctly by smoking as much marijuana as possible!

My boyfriend and I started bright and early with a wake and bake, then met up with a friend for a blunt session. My boyfriend got too high and passed out, but I’m still going, and I love G4 for celebrating with us! I dozed off during Attack of the Show, but I’m wide awake now, watching Half Baked. What a classic.

I’m super stoked for Super High Me next – If you remember, I wrote one of my first posts about the movie last year. I’ve still yet to see it, but you can bet your ass I’ll be watching now and writing about it again either later tonight or tomorrow.

For now, I’m going to keep smokin’ this bowl. I’ll leave you with a few pictures of me and my good friend, Mary Jane, from the solo-celebration I’m having now while my boyfriend is down for the count…

Hope you’re all having a wonderful and safe holiday!

Calling All Smokers!

I'm looking for all people that smoke the lovely sweet leaf to write a post explaining why it is that they smoke weed so I can post the collection here on Sweet Leaf Tribune. I'd love for all of you to send me an email with the following information:
  • your name (an alias is fine if you're worried about work or something)
  • A little bit about yourself, so I can write an author blurb at the bottom of the post
  • Your email address (will be kept private. I promise!)
  • Your post about why you smoke
I'm always looking for more authors for Sweet Leaf Tribune. I'd love for it to become a real e-based magazine, so I need lots of authors! If you'd like to blog about more than just why you smoke pot, please also send me an email with a sample of your writing and what kind of ideas you have for stuff you'd like to write about. Basically anything is fine, so long as it pertains to marijuana law reform or cannabis culture. If you don't know if your topic fits, please don't hesitate to ask me and I'll let you know. ;)
